About Languages Around the Globe

Languages Around the Globe began in 2011 as a hobby Facebook page. In 2013, this website was born and served as a place for me to divulge all of the thoughts that I had about languages, document my own learning struggles, and research fascinating subjects that I love.

This particular website is devoted to languages and linguistics and related content.

I’m from New York, I moved to Germany in March of 2016. I did not speak German when I arrived and the learning process is ever ongoing. I’ve studied Spanish, Russian and several other languages badly. Sometimes I let other people write articles on this blog, but not so much these days.

Big News for Spring/Summer 2021!

LATG is about to release something new and different. In the coming weeks and months, Languages Around the Globe will be expanding into an opportunities marketplace offering job listings from language companies and for positions in language-related industries around the world. This will provide an opportunity for those of us who love languages to find meaningful work in our industries. It will also be a great place for language companies seeking new talent to find exactly the sort of employees they need.

The longer-term goal, assuming things go as planned, is to extend the marketplace to include study programs, academic opportunities, and even a section for hosting freelance profiles. Subscribe to the LATG Newsletter by following this link.
